Statement

Definitions: In general, a household, in the statistical sense of the term, refers to all the occupants of the same dwelling, without these persons necessarily being linked by family ties or marriage (in the case of cohabitation, for example). A household may consist of only one person.

Statistics: The figures reported here have been processed by the Data & Analysis teams of the 5 Flemish provinces on the basis of anonymous data extracted from the National Register. The data do not only include persons who reside legally and for a long period of time in Belgium (population register and aliens register), but also persons registered in one of the waiting registers, such as asylum seekers whose procedure is still pending. The results of the processing by Data & Analysis may therefore differ from the official population figures published by Statbel.

The households include all private households, including households with only members who are not part of the official population.
